What I Saw - Monday, September 5, 2011

 That didn't take long

I thought this would happen.  Already, a
potpourri of trash is appearing in the recycling
receptacles at River Park.
The sign on this one reads "CANS ONLY."

An unpotted plant on a convertible top -
A prank?  Or an early clue to a new direction?

 Another Columbia tradition: double-parking.
There were at least six empty parking spaces beside
this car, but the driver chose to park out on the
street anyway.   The car was there for quite some time,
engine off, parking lights on.

You know summer's almost over when the
cicadas start to crash and burn.
And good riddance to it: heat, humidity, bugs,
weeds, endless lawn mowers roaring.

New recycling receptacles at River Park -
one each for cans, plastic, and glass.
I can't wait to see how this works out.

I'll be danged - there's another one (a door without
an outside step, that is).
I suppose the reasoning for allowing this is
that it's all right as long as the door is secured on the inside.
But how does anyone know if it is?
And not to be a stickler, but why no chain or gate
across the top of the steps leading to the basement?
