What Else I Saw - Saturday, September 10, 2011

There was unknown trouble on 441,
in Washington Borough.
This shot was taken near Plane Street.

Although the barricades were still up
Saturday afternoon, people started wandering
into the park.

The water had receded, but was still above normal.

The lower part of the park was still taped off.

The water had fallen to four feet below Agnes.

The flood had left behind some interesting abstracts.

 The water ebbed slowly.

There was no water outside the water company gate,
only inside.  Go figure.  Maybe the gate kept
the water in.

Still lots of water here, though.

Stuff that reached the higher ground

 More tape

A few boats ended up here, in the parking lot
near the bottom of Locust Street.  The canoe guy
moved his boats to the former Pizza Hut
parking lot along 462.

441 was shut down as some fire companies washed down 441. It was covered with mud in the 1400 and 1500 blocks.

Thanks for that info. I was not able to nail down what had happened there.

All the gendarmes seemed to have deserted their posts by Saturday afternoon. Maybe there was something good on TV.
