Some Thoughts

The actions of the Columbia Borough Council at last Monday's meeting generated several comments, including my own.  The comments appear under the Fat Cat post dated Sunday, August 7, 2011.  Teresa Bono's article on the meeting appeared HERE at

Some readers of this blog wondered about the meaning of the Fat Cat drawing. It is simply my representation of the council and some of its policies.  It does not represent Mayor Lutz, as some have thought.

The antics at the recent meeting inspired me to draw the following satirical cartoon.

There's a great line from a pretty well-known movie that kind of fits here. In the movie, Butch Cassidy said, "I couldn't do that. Could you do that? Why can they do it? Who are those guys?"

I'd add to that, "How do they keep getting away with the stuff they get away with?"

Interesting article in the LNP. Since when are our police officers certified building inspectors?

Butch also says another relevant line: "They're beginning to get on my nerves."

In reference to police officers being certified building inspectors, I wondered about that, too. In one instance, an officer pronounced a building safe, but in a similar instance, a registered professional engineer was needed.

yes how do they keep getting away with the stuff they get away with ??? because, everyone thinks ONE PERSON CAN'T MAKE A DIFFERENCE" i disagree with that. little by little if people would attend mtgs, you'd see. this is OUR town and we need to take it back. NOW.
